This scan offers a non-invasive diagnostic screening for bulging or swelling of the aorta, which can cause concern and risk of a ruptured aneurysm. Age is a determining factor of the risk of having an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), and is more common in males. Ultrasound allows for safe and accurate imaging suitable for early detection and management of the main artery that carries blood from the heart to the lower body, and we recommend this scan for those over 50.
